Join us for a 30-minute guided tour of Cedar Hill, the home where Frederick Douglass lived from 1877 until his death in 1895; see exhibits in the Visitor Center; watch a 20-minute film, “Fighter for Freedom,”; and explore the grounds.
Assistive devices are available for those with low vision and/or hearing loss. The second floor of the house is accessible by stairs only. Staff can provide a photo tour of the second floor for any visitors unable to reach it. Active walking to be expected. Lunch will be at a nearby Busboys and Poets. Please bring some money to cover any charges. There is also a $1.00 fee for the house tour at the Frederick Douglass site. We will also visit the Smithsonian's Anacostia Community Museum.
