Advisory Board

Communications Committee
Maintenance of website; preparation of flyers and periodic newsletter; publicity of Village and non-Village events and resources relevant to the Village mission
Executive Committee
Oversees the overall function of the Village of Takoma Park between Board meetings, prepares the agenda and interacts with the public. Membership consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer; and one other board member.
Finance & Fundraising Committee
Responsibilities include maintaining the financial health of the organization; preparing reports to the Board, to foundations, grant-making entities and to agencies; and monitoring acquisition of funds.
Membership and Outreach Committee
Responsible for outreach to enlist new members; registration, maintenance of records and contact with members; and initiating social events for members.
Program Committee
Responsibilities include planning of monthly information sessions and other events.
Volunteer Recruitment & Management Committee
Recruits and manage volunteers; coordinates volunteer training; arranges for background checks; and maintains records on all volunteers.
